Nawaz Sharif tested the nuclear weapons in 1998. The aftermath was nationalistic fervor that halted the city. However, internationally, no one was impressed, resulting in sanctions and economic chaos.
The clock is one of his government's signature large-than-life clocks that dotted around the city as they promised to transform Lahore into another Paris.
